Rack Math — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 11 July 2026

Rack Math (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a barbell and workout-coaching app developed by Keith Jeffery. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.

The short version: Rack Math does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Your training data lives on your device and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud account; we never see it.

What data the app handles, and where it lives

On your device

Everything you enter, including your workouts, logged sets, estimated-strength history, gyms and plate inventory, custom exercises, goals, and settings, is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to any server we operate.

iCloud sync (optional, your account)

If you are signed in to iCloud, the app syncs your training history and settings across your own devices using Apple’s CloudKit private database and iCloud key-value storage. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple’s control. We cannot access it. You can review Apple’s handling of this data in the Apple Privacy Policy. Turning off iCloud for the app (in iOS Settings) stops this sync.

Apple Health (only with your permission)

If you grant permission, Rack Math integrates with Apple Health to:

  • Read your cardio workouts and active energy (e.g., runs and rides) so they can count toward the app’s muscle-recovery estimates; and

  • Write the strength workouts you finish in the app back to Apple Health.

Health data is read from and written to Apple Health on your device. Rack Math does not send your Health data anywhere. You can grant or revoke this access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health, or in the Health app.

Exercise animation clips

Some exercises show a short demonstration clip. The app downloads these clips over a secure (HTTPS) connection from our content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) and caches them on your device. This is a request for a video file only. No account, personal, Health, or training data is included in the request. As with any internet request, the provider automatically receives your device’s IP address and standard technical request information to deliver the file, which it may process in accordance with its own policies. The app works without these clips (it falls back to a muscle diagram) if you are offline.

Purchases

Rack Math offers optional paid “Coach” subscriptions and a one-time purchase, handled entirely by Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. Apple processes your payment and manages your subscription. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple provides us only anonymous, aggregate sales information. See the Apple Privacy Policy.

What we do not do

  • We do not collect or store your personal information on our own servers.

  • We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs.

  • We do not track you across apps or websites, and the app makes no request to track.

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.

  • We do not require an account or ask for your name, email, or contact information.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud account, you control it:

  • Delete individual workouts or clear your entire history in the app (Settings).

  • Delete the app to remove its on-device data.

  • Manage or delete the app’s iCloud data in iOS Settings> iCloud.

  • Revoke Apple Health access at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings.

We do not retain copies of your training or Health data because we never receive it.

Children’s privacy

Rack Math is a general-audience fitness app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-party services

Rack Math relies on the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data that a company holds about you. Because Rack Math does not collect or hold your personal data, there is nothing for us to retrieve or delete on your behalf. Your data remains under your control on your device and in your Apple account. If you have questions, contact us below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
